Von Roberts
In the latest NZ Quilters on the "quilter's notebook" page one of the items shown is the True Cut Rotary blade sharpener. Our Quilt group is interested in maybe buying one that all the members could use.. We have checked the video and it does say it comes with heavier stones to sharpen any nicks But first we would be interested if anyone has had experience with this product. If so, would you recommend it? is it something that a group could share or not? Or should we just stick to using "kitchen foil" for buffing? Any comments would be much appreciated. Guest Linda S
If you're talking about the electric one, then YES! It is great. It will not return your blades to brand-new condition, but it will sharpen them so that you will most likely double their life. You cannot get big nicks out, like if you run the blade straight on into your ruler, but otherwise, they sharpen nicely. I've had mine for about a year and I don't think I've bought a new blade in all that time. I take mine to retreats and sharpen my friends' blades too. LisaC
Linda is exactly right. The sharpener is a good investment to extend life of dull blades; not nicked blades.

Von Roberts
Thanks everyone for your feed back. It does help to get positive recommendations. We will certainly think seriously about getting one for our group once they become available here in NZ or Australia later next month. I am sure it will be worth waiting for!
