Pepper63
Hi, I just purchased a used Ulti 1 machine. The machine seems to work fine but when I hit the stop button it takes 3-4 more stitches before it stops. I adjusted the machine per the manual but it does not seem to make a difference. It forces me to have to have to glide to a stop. Anyone have any suggestions?
RunningThreads
That is exactly how it works. Hit the stop and coast into the finish. You will get the hang of it fairly quick. The stitch regulated machines have a different motor that stops almost instantly. Nigel
pumpkinpatchquilter
I also just purchased an Ultimate 1 - no stitch regulation - but it also takes a few stitches before stopping. It's a pain! But, if you plan ahead, it seems to be getting easier. Also - when I turn it on sometimes it will take a stitch...I call it phantom stitching!!! So if you stop your machine and turn it off, make sure when you turn it back on it's in a place where that phantom stitch isn't going to hurt! Callie_Grace
That is exactly what mine does as well. I asked this same question when I got my machine as well. You do get use to it.
zeke
Yes, unlike the milli motors, the UI motor does not have a brake in it. Therefore it coasts to a stop.
