Quilting Heidi
The hartley fence was designed for Marilyn Badger by her hubby. It sits on the back of your machine and you can make circles, straight lines and it also had cookie cutter designs you can stitch.
DawnCavanaugh
If you received a Hartley Fence with your machine and didn't receive any instruction with it, then it may be difficult to understand what Heidi's talking about above. I've attached a helpful booklet below. If you actually mean the "Hartley Base Expander" (they get easily confused) then the base expander is a piece of plexiglas that you slip on to the throat of your machine to make the throat wider. This is very important if you wish to use accessories like longarm rulers or templates with your machine to do straight lines and uniform curved shapes. Let us know how else we can help you get to know your machine better! Hartley Fence Updated Email Instructions.pdf
