Vivienne
I need to replace the fluroescent light on my Ultimate 1 and would like to use an LED tube instead. Does the Ultimate 1 have a ferro-magnetic ballast? Has anyone else done this with an Ultimate 1. I know the new machines have LED lighting. RunningThreads
It has a fluorescent starter and on my machine it is under the rear cover. I have IS added to my machine but I think that is the original location. Nigel

Vivienne
Nigel, thanks for that. I did ask at the APQS stand in Lancaster a few months ago if you could retro fit LED lights to an Ultimate 1 and got the impression that the answer was No. I have been checking out LED light fittings and it appears that you can get a tube one with fittings similar to fluroescent tubes. RitaR
Vivienne, please let us know how this works out for you? Rita
RunningThreads
Vivienne I know several members have added led lights to their machines and some have moved the fluorescent to behind the needlebar. Here is a link to a recent thread on adding the led lights. http://forum.apqs.com/index.php?/topic/31430-retrofit-for-millie-machine-light/?hl=light . I don't have the skill to do a professional looking installation so until someone comes up with an easy upgrade I'll keep what I have.
