RitaR
I have the fantastic Turbowinder, so I don't need this. I am just curious if anyone uses it and what their pro's and con's are. Looks to be a possible for the quilting machine bobbins. Is it?? http://www.allbrands.com/products/16229-bobbin-thread-winder-rotary-l-bobbins-electric-ac Rita
whitepinesquilter
Looks like a nice one. It does state in the body of the description that it is for any machine, embroidery, quilting etc, except those listed at the end that don't have the regular L size bobbin. jimerickson
I don't think I'd buy one. The commercial units like Ray at Quilt Tech sells look to be better ones, and cheaper too. I have one like them, came with my Ult 2, and it's performed very well. I did add a router speed control to mine which makes it easier to use. Ray offers a similar set up as well as the one with out the control. I'd pay the extra for the one that includes the control. All Brand's unit looks like it was originally intended as a battery unit. The commercial ones are set up with sewing machine type 120v AC motors, and should last a really long time. The commercial units can be adjusted to fit either L or M bobbins. Mine was originally set up for L bobbins, and when I converted to M's, I adjusted it to fit them. Jim
