Marti10245
I have a problem with my electric quilt advance. I get it tight as I always have and when I tighten my front rollers with the hand break the electric quilt advance gets loose. I am thinking I might have stripped my gears in my electric advance but I'm not sure yet. Is there any way I can buy another hand break like the one on my front rollers? For now I am going to rig up some Velcro to hold my rollers tight. I have two quilts to quilt today for a customer. I am going to tear my motor apart today and see if the gears are stripped. Where can I buy new gears for my motor?
Beachside Quilter
APQS sells replacement brakes, Marti. Call Service and also ask about your motor gears. They can help you diagnose and get what you need. Good luck!
RunningThreads
Also check that the set screws for the cogs haven't come loose. There is usually a flat spot on the motor shaft and the roller shaft where the set screws should tighten down so the cogs don't slip.
