Mercedes
I watched a couple of youtube videos on how to do pantographs. The pantographs they showed had a "shadow" pantograph to start at the top of the quilt. It was a partial row that the lines ran off the top of the quilt. The pantographs I have don't have that partial row on the top so I do just do the pantograph with no iines going off the top of the quilt or do I start into the pantograph so that first row at the top of the quilt runs off the quit top? I wasn't sure what was the norm and which would look the best - haven't done these before. Thanks!
o2b Quilting
You could do it either way. If you choose to have part of the panto going off the top of the quilt, your bottom and top will look the same...as it is highly unlikely that the bottom of the quilt will end up perfectly, (with a the full bottom row fitting perfectly). ffq-lar
I echo what Lucy says--never will a panto fit with an exact number of full rows down the top. So start however you want and is easiest for you. They become second-nature after you stitch a bunch.
Bonnie H
Some pantos dont not have a partial row printed as the panto itself does not "nest." Here is an example of a panto that does not nest. On this particular one, the did print a partial row. https://www.urbanelementz.com/shop/product/agave-sashing/ The majority, if not all, pantos at Anne Bright's site do not nest and no partial row is printed. In cases like that, I usually do not stitch out a partial row at the top of the quilt.

Mercedes
Thanks everyone for all the feedback - since there's no real "normal" for this, I think I'll decide which looks best and just go with that. And thanks for the links to the examples!
