matildanme
I was speaking to a lady regarding pantos and she told me that she prefers to use the pointer instead of the laser as the laser is bad for your eyes! Didn't have the chance to dig deeper on the topic so I was wondering if anyone here has heard anything? Could this be so? Should we quilt pantos wearing sunnies  cheers Satu
BigPineQuilting
I undestand a laser light pointed at your eyes can be harmful, but have not heard of any issues with just following the light while quilting. Will be intersting to see what posts come in. Carol
Bonnie
BPQ...is correct, if you shine the lazer into your eyes or someone else's yes you will be doing some damage or if it reflects back at you from a mirror. However, you would have to do this for several hours a days for weeks on end for any damage to be done...the lazers are pretty low powered. But to have it shine on the paper and totally downwards...there isn't any harm to anyone. I do believe the person who told you this is totally incorrect....but then I also believe that people who try to tell me that my cell phone can cause me to have brain cancer are also nuts. So if you don't have any trouble with it shining on the paper, I wouldn't worry to much about it, some don't like the reflection. They sell way to many of the hand held ones for them to be a health hazard.
