Gail O Posted January 18, 2017 Report Share Posted January 18, 2017 If it's a border, I usually just mark the centre line of the border for a reference, then chalk a spine; if it's a block I just chalk a spine that I think looks good. If I want to repeat a spine exactly then I will use circles and ovals to create a pattern on paper, cut the pattern and then chalk the quilt top.
