lizziesgirl
Myrna, I have been reading the posts about the circle lord and the quilt ez. I have a hartley fence and love it but reading about the templates and seeing the results are tempting. I have done baptist fans, cross hatching and circles with the hartley but haven't tried the cookie cutters yet. My question is can you do clamshells and rope borders with the hartley? P.S. Wouldn't Marilyn's DH just love how we use his name?
mrsbishwit
I know that there is a cookie cutter set that is used to do the rope borders, not sure about the clam shell go to Myrna's website to check out the different cookie cutter shapes http://www.aquilterschoice.com Joann
Myrna Ficken
Sheryl, You can do a rope with the rope cookie cutter and a clam with the circle maker. I love my fence and CL folks love that. A good question to ask is how often will you do ropes and clamshells? Myrna
The Crafty Unicorn
OK Myrna, Rope with a cookie cutter I can see... Cookie cutters are on my wish list, but can we get a hint on clamshells with the circle maker? I have an idea, but can't quite get my head around it. lizziesgirl
Myrna, I probably would do ropes and clamshells more if I knew how. Now the question is do you show how in your book and DVD?
Myrna Ficken
To do a clamshell you do the first row as if putting half circles in the border. For the next row you off set . To find the center for that row you will use the circle form the previous line. Do you see that in your mind? Myrna
lizziesgirl
I understand how you are doing the clamshells, now that makes sense. I do believe that I will be ordering your book, and soon. Thank you
