JAB
Have any of you used one of these for your silicone thread lubricant?
Sparkle
No, Julie, I haven\'t. But, I\'ve always been curious about them---where did you find one to buy? Hopefully you will get some input from someone. It sure looks like a better idea than "Sewers Aide" dribbled down the sides of the cone of thread! JAB
I first saw it on South Star Supply website. But you have to order over $50 to avoid paying a surcharge. Then I searched eBay and found it there. I\'m sure there are other sites where you can get it at as well.
lyonden
Kingsmen also carries a thread lubricant that sticks to the side of your machine. It sells for 10.00 and 4.00 for the lubricant. Works great for me. They don\'t have a picture of it on the site but there is a picture on my website area under quilting helps
Jeanette
I have the one that sets on top of the machine and after a year I took it off. It is a hassle to rethread the machine if the thread breaks and you can\'t pull the new thread thru. I think mine caused some shredding also. I just dribble the silicone down the side of the spool if it needs it. Not many threads need the silicone. It\'s kinda like adding some shiney chrome on your car, it\'s not necessary:-)
Quilting Heidi
Julie, I had this exact one on my old stretched machine and loved it. I liked that you just filled the bottle and the lubricant fills the pads as needed. It doesn\'t bouce good though ! I haven\'t found on my Millenium that I really need it. I had to have it on my old machine and it really made the thread behave and I didn\'t have any breaks at all. You will have to reduce your tension because it does add a little resistance. It makes delicate threads really behave. Heidi
