Jhend
When you are doing echo quilting in a border, do you allow room for the binding, or is it ok just to run it off the edge? Thanks
Melanie Rouse
I run off the edge. It helps to draw your eye off the quilt.

Bonnie
I don\'t run totally off the edge...I get really really close. Reason is that I went off the quilt a couple of times and when the person trimmed out the quilt she cut the stitches and put the binding over the cut edges, but because she didn\'t us a tiny of enough stitch count when she put the binding on...once the quilt was washed the stitches started to unravel from the edge and I had to go back and tie off the ends.... Jhend
Thanks everyone. I wasn\'t sure that it would look bad running off the edge. Bonnie, I will be sure to mention that to my customer or maybe run another tiny stitch over the edges of the quilt before I take it off. As long as they don\'t cut the quilt I think that would keep it secure.
Bonnie
Joanne, it should indeed hold and you won\'t have any trouble....
