Just Sew Simple
About using flannel as batting and quilting over it again: Well, that's a right nice idea but I did okay and thought I'd give it to Children's quilts at guild. They give them to abuse shelters and such. I will try and post a picture and let you see what you think - remember it was my first time - a virgin quilt! Boni
The picture is a little small to see detail. But I'm glad you were pleased with the results. I like your idea of giving it to the children/shelters. I've put muslin over previous practices too. It's a little bulky depending on how much quilting is in the previous work. Those usually go to the animal shelters. And there is still a tension issue with so many layers.
Boni
Your second picture popped up as I posted. Looks like you're on your way to the grocery store.
Katydids
Oh yea, I guess that wouldn't work if you are donating it. I didn't realize you meant that, I thought maybe you were just doodling and trying out designs. Would love to see a bigger picture. You can post one that is around 800X600 pixels on here and that is a good size for viewing. What is the link to your webshots so we can see??? Boni
What a great practice sheet! That close up looks like you have the tension tamed. Fun, huh:D
PattyJo
I know there is more than one Patty on here, so I'm not sure who you were talking to,,,,,,but this PattyJo says that it looks great. One of my bed quilts was quilted with cotton on top, flannel in the middle and cotton on the back. The quilt is quite flat and thin but it works great in the summer. Thanks for posting the pics.
