quiltermidwife
If you make a quilt using a pattern, is one then obliged to give the quilt the same name as the author of the pattern?
Boni
I would say name your quilt what you want to. If you exhibit it in any show, always give credit to the pattern designer. It is YOUR quilt, not YOUR design. Am I right, any experts out there?
IBQLTN2
You made it you can name it anything you want. In a description you would put the official block name such as 9 patch. But surely you are free to call the quilt whatever. Having a good day over there? jp
PattyJo
I agree. Give credit to the designer of the pattern if possible, or the name of the block, but you can name it anything you want to. Some of the names I have given quilts are "The Freedom Flight of the Flutterby", "In No Particular Order" & "Glory, What A Morning". I let them speak to me while I'm working on them. Sometimes, I know right away, but sometimes, I have to even wait until after I finish quilting them before it comes to me.
