witha'K'quilting
Does anyone know of a source for fatbacks that are wild in print and/or color? I get so tired of the solid-toned backs. I usually piece my backs, but it would be nice to find them in one piece. Thanks
Stagecl
SewBatik's has wide backings...as to them being wild...I don't think so, but it would give you another option. The batiks are soft, not like Hoffman batiks. Cheryl
Sandra Darlington
Christian Lane is another place to look. Great service!
ffq-lar
Or.....buy a white or cream wide back, wash out the sizing, and use spray dye to "wild it up". Try Adirondack Color Wash--non-toxic water based spray dye--heat set, rinse and let cure for 72 hours. Works great on white-on-white as the fabric dyes and the stamped white stays white. The bottle says www.rangerink.com but I purchased it locally. Just a thought.
Guest Linda S
Christian Lane Quilters is the home of the original fatback. Lots of prints and very economical too. Compare the price of a fatback to eight or nine yards of fabric you'll need to piece a backing. Great prices http://www.christianlanequilters.com Big end of the year bargain sale going on now too. JoleneK
I was just at Hancock's of Padcuah on our way home from St. Louis - they had about 25 - 30 different wide backs and I thought of this thread. You can also order online through them.
