Persephannie
Can anyone tell me if the APQS Turbo Bobbin Winder will wind Janome plastic bobbins? I think that the centre of my plastic bobbins are larger than the metal ones and I really don't want to purchase one of these just to find out that it won't work with my DSM. Thanks everyone. sewlinzi
It does a great job of Featherweight ones, though! I think the stand-alone winder is indispensible (SP?!) = brill! LINZI
Sparkle
I know you are interested in the Turbo Winder---but have you looked at the K-Kraft bobbin winder. I've had mine for over 4 yrs. and it's great! It works well, and I love the small area it takes up and it's all one piece--very compact. Winds most bobbins (L size). http://fancyquilt.com/store/viewitem.php?groupid=0&%20productid=
Persephannie
Thank you to those that have replied. I just find that my DSM dosen't fill the bobbins as much as I would like. Angie, I will certainly look into the K-Kraft bobbin winder.
ThreadWaggle
Persephannie, Not sure which Janome you have but have you tried adjusting the screw in the top of your bobbin winder? I know that with my 6500 and 760 I was able to loosen the screws and move the little arm so that it farther from the post until I got it where the bobbins were full. I have had 3 Janomes and have done this on all of them. I am not sure why they ship the machines with the bobbins only winding half full, but all 3 of mine came from the factory that way. Also I have a sindwinder and it does work on my Janome plastic bobbins. I cracked the only one I tried to put on my turbo winder... Yikes.
PamelaA
Sandra and Angela, Thank you for the info. I was about to try putting a Janome bobbin on my turbo bobbin winder. You have saved me from a sad lesson. I will also move my arm on my Janomes so they put more on the bobbin. That is a great tip. Thanks Pamela
