ncutt
Operator error on my part. Broke the needle and replaced it but now the backing fabric is fraying a bit about 1/4 inch away from the stitich. The stitches are fine. Any ideas on what happened and what I need to do to remedy this! I am only working on a king size monster quilt (105 x 105)! I would like to get it done! francine
Have you checked for burrs on foot or plate?
ncutt
It's on the back of the quilt only. I took the plate off and noticed a small scratch. I will check that out. Thanks!
Quilting Heidi
My guess too would be a burr on the needle plate. You'll probably have to sand it out. Good luck!
Bekah
My first guess is a burr on the needle plate also, been there, done that.
ncutt
Thank you, all! Yes, that was it. Filed it down with sandpaper and TAH! DAH! Quilt is finished. Thanks, again! Funny, I took the base off but never felt it and couldn't see it from the top because the hopping foot covered it. If it would have been a snake it would have bit me. Sheez!
