jans
I'm having trouble with my needle up/down button. When I hit the yellow button and release the needle continues to go up and down many time before it stops, rather than just taking one stitich. It just suddenly started doing this in the middle of a quilt. Also having trouble with top thread breaking even though I've rethreaded my machine twice. Any ideas? Thanks, Jan
witha'K'quilting
Jan, check out this post as it is what you need to do for the needle up/down. http://www.apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=15539&page=1#pid201154 As far as the thread breaking...are you using cone thread on the back, or a spool? A spool will not feed properly from the holders on the back of the machine. Is the tension too tight for the thread you are using?

carolinequilts
Interesting! I just had this problem today (with the needle not stopping). After quilting for 6 months, why would it suddenly start doing this? The only change I can think of that is different for me is that I'm using a finer thread in the bobbin (like So Fine). Could this be the reason?
witha'K'quilting
According to Dawn, the needle up/down is a potentiometer and can just start doing this, if I understood correctly. Mine does it sometimes...but not all the time. So I haven't adjusted the #8 screw yet.
