JustSewSimple
Have any of you made any quilted-Christmas-Tree- Ornaments to give as gifts? I want to make about a dozen and thought I could knock them out all at once. Any ideas you have would be lovely.
IBQLTN2
Sylvia Do you have an embroidery machine. I like to make those laced ornaments from Deb's library. they make really nice ornaments. Haven't really ever done any quited ones. Just a thought about the embroidery
JustSewSimple
Yes, I do have an embroidery machine but I really really want to quilt some. I might just make up a pattern.

anita
I've made these foundation pieced ornaments. There are tissue patterns to make 24. http://averyspecialcollection.com/shop/little_bits/page2.htm Anita
JustSewSimple
Thanks Jeanne and Anita. I know what I will do but I'll not tell until I get a couple done. I think this may be fun! I'll post if they turn out well.
Sharon M
These aren't quilted, so not what you're looking for, but thought I'd post a pic anyways in case some other crafty person would like to try... super easy and fast, they are styrofoam balls, covered in folded 2" squares (pinned on with regular stick pins) and embellished with lace and ribbon scraps. I used to make alot of them and gave most away as gifts. There's a pic of a finished one, and one almost done... great way to use up little bits of scraps. They look great if you use shiny or metallic fabrics too.
JustSewSimple
Sharon, these are just beautiful! They look hard and time-consuming bur who wouldn't want those beauties on their tree?
Quilting Heidi
Sylvia they aren't that hard at all. Just take some time to fold the fabric. I did a bunch of them last year. I like to have little kits done up so that I have everything cut and ready to pin. I can take them to work with me and put them together on my lunch break.
