quiltingnanny
What is the best way to run Signature Pixelles ? It's a size 30. What should I run in bobbin ? Don't have any BL or SF. I do have Isacord. Is it loosy goosy ? Or a PITA ? Thanks, Glenda
ramona-quilter
Hi Glenda - I used to use Signature cotton quite a lot unitl I got computerized. Now I use So Fine which looks better on the intricate digitized designs. Pixelles is A&E's polyester trilobal offering. They call it 30 weight. But it is labelled TEX 35 on the bottom of the cone. I have only run Isacord on top - so many yummy colors. I had zero problems with it. I don't think that Isacord would run fine in the bobbin. sewlinzi
I use Isacord in the bobbin a lot - I tend to use a pigtail bobbin case to keep it under control. My latest favourite thread is Filtec - they have variegated now in poly and cotton - great colours!
Bonnie
Agreeing with Linda. Isacord runs well top or bottom and should be the answer you are looking for.
quiltingnanny
So, should I run both top and bottom ? It is the perfect color. Purple and green.I don't have much patience with tension issues !
quiltingnanny
Bonnie and Linzi, I agree that Isacord is great but this spool of Signature is perfect for this quilt. It's mine and will be donated to Hospice in memory of one of our guild members daughter. I want it to look good. Such a yummy blend of purple and green. quiltmonkey
OOOOhhh! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pixels! It is soooooooooo Pretty! I have used it sucessfully on the longarm on top with Bottom line in the bobbin but I am sure you can use anything you wish in the bobbin and be OK. Just set your bobbin tension with Isacord as you would anything else. (spider drop test) Have fun.
sewlinzi
I meant pick one of the colours from the top varieg thread that you can match with Isacord and use that in the bobbin with the Sig on top...
quiltingnanny
oh. Well just duhhh ! I thought it should work since they were about the same texture. But, having never mixed thread like that wasn't sure. Thanks everyone, I 'll let you know if I have the patience to tweek tension and get'er done.
