sewingfarmgirl
I have run through my 3rd set of APQS wheels, (the black ones) and I am considering the edgerider wheels. I wonder about the durability of these wheels and whether they last longer than the black ones. Any thoughts?
Katydids
the edgerider wheels have dual ball bearings which lets them hold up longer under the weight of the machine on a horizontal wheel, so the answer to your question is yes. Quote from Edgerider "Dual ball bearings: to reduce the unavoidable axial play (wobbling) of any single ball bearing, the EdgeRider wheels have two ball bearings. This feature increases the stability of the machines, and on machines with horizontal wheels reduces the strain on the individual bearings, and are practically equivalent with the use of more expensive thrust ball bearings." IQuiltToo
Patty, finally life has calmed down enough to have the time to put my Edgeriders on. Hester is coming to help us out! Hope it all goes well! Marilyn
quiltinginthecountry
Linda, I ordered mine through Patty Butcher. I got the wheels within (2) days. I love my wheels. I'm still new to this. Got my machine in November of 2009. I'm practicing my ruler work. What a difference. I now have circles. Pretty circles. Hope this helps. Katydids
Glad to hear that Marilyn. Hester knows how to do it now and how to adjust the wheels for the optimum ride. Thanks Anya!
