lorihufford
A customer brought me two small quilts (each are 62 x 70) that will be used as wall hangings in her church. What would be my best batting choice for an item that will always be hanging in one direction? I want it to have enough body to hang well, but not too much to sag. I remember someone else asked about this previously - I should have paid more attention! My initial thought it cotton or a cotton poly blend. The customer has put hours into the piecing and the quilting will accentuate that. Thanks, Lori
Gator
I like QD wool it hangs really well and it's like butter to quilt through. The key to a wall hanging is ensuring it is square.
victoriasews
I like Warm and Natural for wall hangings because it doesn't drape like QD. I might add a layer of poly or wool for definition.
Quilting Heidi
I would probably use QD Poly Delux. It is a nice heavy batting that hangs out stiffer and isn't floppy. I love QD wool and if you want the quilting to really show put a layer of both. I have heard that wool will sag over time if you don't line it with something else. I haven't used it for wall hangings so I can't say for sure.
cjtinkle
I agree with Heidi on this one. QD wool is my personal favorite batting, but I think Poly is the best choice for wallhangings.
