meg
Let those that love us, love us. And to those that don't love us, may God turn thier hearts. And if He doesn't turn thier hearts,' May He turn thier ankles, So that we may know them by thier limping! I'm making a traditional Irish dinner tonight in memory of my mom and dad - who loved this holiday the best of them all! Happy St Pat's everyone! quiltmonkey
My great grandmother Galvin was an immigrant from Galway Ireland. I have this near my kitchen sink and I read it often while scrubbing those pots and pans... ~~~~~~ An Irish Blessing ~~~~~~ May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. lcquilting
My little ones thought it was really neat that the sneaky little Lephrechaun came to our house this morning and turned our milk green!!! Happy St. Patricks Day to you all!
lisae
I am not Irish, but my hubby is 3/4 Irish (despite the last name Eichelberger). My Mom made me a cross stitch that has sailboats with "quilts" for sails. The saying is "May your Neighbors respect you, Trouble neglect you, the Angels protect you and Heaven accept you." It is supposed to be an Irish blessing. Love it!
lisae
Oh, and Meg, my dear mother in law (maiden name Kirby) brought me back a scarf from Ireland with the same saying as you posted. Love it, too!
