Bliss at Paducah

Recommended Posts

I was able to try the new Bliss system last night at the AQS show. It is very smooth. I talked with Marilyn, Dawn, Heidi and Bob and they were all wonderful about answering my questions. I still don't get it why it will cost current owners 3K to upgrade, but that's not because they didn't try their best. :D:D:D I can not afford that at this point but did order some of the new wheels. I'm not sure I'll be able to tell the difference with them but will give it a try. I recommend everyone to stop by their booth and give it a whirl. Oh, and congratulations to Marilyn and Dawn for winning ribbons on some gorgeous quilts:) They sure make it look easy!

I tried it today and it is nice but I have the edgeriders and quiltglide on mine so I didn't see enough difference for $3000. Maybe it would benefit the older machines more. Paducah is wonderful!!!!! I have taken tons and tons of pictures. I bought a curve master foot for my domestic. I have wanted one for awhile. Tomorrow we are off to the quilt museum. We are staying across the river in Metropolis ILL so we have been hunting for the giant Superman statue. My grandson wants pictures of us with it. We can't find the dang thing!!

Shana, YAY thank you!! We are just a few blocks over from the courthouse. My grandson will be delighted and I will even send you a picture :P You guys are absolutely the greatest ever!! We will head for Superman before we go to the museum. I took pictures of over 100 quilts today. If I can figure out how to do it I will post a few everyday when I get back home. They are sooo beautiful. Since we are staying at the hotel attached to the riverboat casino I think we will meander over there tonight. Maybe I can win enough money to buy all the neat stuff I have seen here!!!!:P

Hey girls, not only is there a giant superman statue there is a grocery called "big johns" and it has a statue BIGGER than Superman and he is holding 2 bags of groceries!!! I am just dying to climb up there and get in one of his bags for a picture ::cool:: One more stiff drink last night and I just know I could have done it.:P His legs are REAL tall so that would be the hardest part of the climb. I think once I made it to his waist I would be ok...just have to swing myself around and into one of his grocery bags. Hubby says it would be a hoot if the firemen had to come and get me down!!!!!! My body may be 56 but the mind is still a teenager :P

This has been such a hoot to read this thread. I just returned from Paducah on Thursday. The Sinnissippi Quilters Guild had the airport register a flight with the FAA and we can now go every year on a day flight. So cool. A 45-minute flight from Illinois. Well, I just had to find out about Big John across the river. We'll have to check out Metropolis next year. I doubt I'd try to climb up into his bag though!! Cheri, if you ever get into a bag, you definitely need to share a pic. Just thinking about climbing up into the bag is hysterical!!
