Judi
This is just a small wall hanging, about 40 x 40 and I just can not deceide HOW to quilt it! A new customer has brought this to me, she does not like heavy or dense quilting, will be using 80 / 20 batting. The part that my eye is drawn to is the whites. I am thinking cross-hatching and SID. All of these colors are different even the star points, even the whites. Any ideas here would be great, I will start this one soon. Just finished her green one, all with using my Circle Lord and SID. It is still on the machine, but I will take photos.
Judi
Looks better in the photo, the stars jump out more. They are over 40 different fabrics in this. The dark points are blues, browns and greens.....

GERRY
WOW Myran: I just had a look at you webshots, & that trip around the world /rainbow qulit, is to die for, How long did it take you to do all those feathers? diane@bcq
How about doing CC in the colored parts of the star blocks and a fill in the light part. maybe a flower in the large part where the starts come together. You could tie those on with the outside border and do a flower out there too. Make the flowers similar to the ones in the outside border fabric. Then maybe a small leaf in the skinny border. I drew up some of what I mean. Diane F
Jhend
Judi, I did something somewhat like that. The customer also didn't want heavy quilting, but wanted colonial wreaths in the white blocks. Take a look and see if this helps. Also, the opposing blocks were just ruler work. kathyb
Diane, How on earth did you draw an 'overlay' like that on Judi's quilt???? Oh, sigh, I think I'd better stick to quilting. That was really cool tho!!!
LindaFritchen
Myrna, beautiful work! I especially like the design in the tan border...the way it braids together. Do you have a rough idea how long it takes you to do something like that? Truly awesome.
Judi
Diane - how did you draw on the photo like that? Cool way to show what you mean, and great ideas too! What a way to play with a design and practice. Joanne - Thanks for the photo too - wish I would have seen that first. I also LOVE what Myrna did! Her work is always AWE-some! We are off to the pool right now, but when we get back I will post a photo what I did end up doing with this quilt. Thanks for the ideas everybody! diane@bcq
Answer to drawing on the photo! I use the paint program that came with my computer. I import the picture I saved from the original post. then I change the size to a large format and use the pencil feature to draw on the picture. Save what I have drawn and the upload as you would any other picture. Maybe not clear as mud but you get the idea, just play with your paint program. I have to say that I learned this from being on the LAChat web-site I did not come up with it on my own. Diane F
