SandraG
The pelican that was in the picture I posted yesterday was rescued! Our governor, Bobby Jindal, was with the photographer and he called Wildlife and Fisheries. DW&F sent people out and about 20 birds were rescued. That picture is also on the front page of the Baton Rouge newspaper today www.2theadvocate.com! Sandra

SandraG
hey Meg, We are all pretty pissed off too and we feel helpless to do anything. My DSIL is headed down to the coast this weekend. Quilting Heidi
Meg you are so right! I'm glad the birds were rescued and I sure hope they are able to clean them up. I saw more horrific pictures tonight and it just turns your stomach. It just seems like they could be doing more to get the oil before hit hits the shores and quicker so these poor birds aren't tortured.
srichardson
That is one famous bird! He was in our local paper here in S. California and is also on the home page of our internet provider. I hope that BP will soon get their act together and find a solution to this awful mess. Sue
Mirabelle
They showed a picture of that bird and many others on our news report last night. It is just sickening what is happening, I hope and pray that is stops soon although the long term effects is another matter.
delld
You they are cleaning the birds up and bringing to Florida so I've heard. I'm afraid that when they are released the birds will return to their homes. We have a bird recuse called B.E.A.K. S. not far from my home. Cindy the director was on the TV last night. It is so sad.:(
