AHuffman
Here's a quilt I just delivered to its owner. She is an unbelievable applique queen and this is done as needle turn with the tiniest pieces imaginable.

AHuffman
I used IQ for the outside holly borders and the inner scroll border. The main background is a wandering ribbon I did freehand. I really took advantage of the 3-4 second switch between IQ mode and freehand mode for this quilt.

AHuffman
I used the snowflake designs that came with IQ. In some of the backgrounds of the bigger blocks. I did freehand for the snowballs and snow swirls.

AHuffman
Each of the Santa's got their own unique background. I tried to imagine what each one would be doing and added in touches to make the scene come to life. Most everything in the actual Santa blocks is freehand. AHuffman
Sorry about the quality of the photos. I lowered the light level so you could see the quilting lines as easily as possible.

AHuffman
I used a double batt on this one. Hobbs 80/20 on the bottom and wool on the top. It allowed me to pack up the quilt and travel without it creasing her applique. Plus, the wool gave the applique a trapunto look. It worked out well.
