cblevins
Sylvia, I think we have the same kind of sewing machine...Memory craft 6600P. I am trying to use metro in top and on bobbin. BEAUTIFUL stitches but thread breaks every 10 inches or so. I have been playing with top tension but hasn't helped. Any ideas?
Busy Quilting
I also have a Janome 6600. I have trouble sometimes when using rayon thread but Take out the bobbin and have a play with the tension there too then loosen the top off. I also like to make sure that I run the thread through both hooks in the thread stand. New needle. Same problem solvers as on the longarm!!! Kueser
Have you tried a different kind of needle? Embroidery or even leather?
JustSewSimple
I tried to answer you last night from our football game on my blackberry but I couldn't get it to load on the forum. Anyway, I have a couple of suggestions or comments: 1) Do you have your metro cone on a cone-holder type thread holder on the table behind your machine? If not, put it on one to help it unwind from the spool. 2) Loosen your bobbin tension a bit and that will allow you to loosen your top tension a bit and it should help with the breakage. Mine stitches out like a king! Let me hear how yours goes.
