yankiequilter
Yesterday I dropped my taxes off with the CPA and had a quilting magazine with me that she noticed. She told me that her 101 year old grandmother is still making quilts on a treadle machine, but the one that she used for years was broken and she couldn't find the necessary parts. Does anyone know where she might find parts for a treadle machine? Let's keep that granny quilting!!
Kueser
What are they looking for? Belts, bobbins, ???????? I'm prety sure you can still get the belts as I've seen new treddle machines for sale. You might try Missouri Sewing Machine in KC. They seem to have the parts for almost anything. yankiequilter
I'm not sure what part(s) are needed. She mentioned something about the 'foot pedal'.
RunningThreads
I would email or call Cindy Peters stitchesintime@earthlink.net 651-764-1298. I believe she is in Minnesota and her business is vintage sewing machines and parts and she also has a museum. I just ordered some obsolete needles and treadle belts from her and she sent the bill after she put the order in the mail (too trusting). sammi357
Thank you....I have a treadle that needs work, too. I was wishing when I was in PA that I had known what parts to get....I'm thinking that the Amish community there might be a good resource, too. s
Guest Linda S
Also - you might google Graham Forsdyke -- he is in England, but specializes in old machines. I've gotten parts and needles from him before. I have an antique chain stitch machine I still use from time to time.
