dancingraisin
Another post just directed someone to APQS for a channel lock if one was not on her Freedom. If you buy a machine without channel locks, such as Lucey or Lenni, can you add them?
Beachside Quilter
The electronic channel locks are only available on the Millennium. There are several postings on folks who have use binder clips and clamps to put on the carriage for a temporary solution.

DawnCavanaugh
New Lucey and Lenni machines include a manual vertical channel lock, which permits you to quilt straight horizontal lines:)

jimerickson
I fabricated both a horizontal and vertical channel lock for my '97 Ult2. It was a challenging project. Creating a power supply and routing the wiring took some thought and time. I used (do I dare say) Gammill channel lock magnets for the locks. A couple of weeks ago I had to replace the needle bar and bushings on Zelda (my Ult2) so I had to take her off the table. I thought I'd done a good job engineering the wiring so she could be unhooked. Well, as it turned out, I overlooked one or two things. so to put her back together I had to change a couple of things. I got her back together and she work better than before. If anyone is interested in knowing what's involved, I'd be glad to describe the job if you e-mail me at: jimatthelake903@yahoo.com The Ult2 has vertical wheels. My guess it that verticals are easier that horizontal to modify, but I don't see why horizontal wheeled machines couldn't be retro fitted too. JustSewSimple
Jim, you are very handy indeed! Can you fix just anything? My hubby is handy with lots of things as long as it does not involve electricity or itty bitty parts. That must be nice to be able to just dream it and do it!!!!
