Anne from Guam
I am having some trouble winding bobbins with the metro thread. Everything goes fine and then big loops appear. I don't even try to use these in the machine, I know tension problems or thread breakage will occur. How do I make sure to get a nicely wound bobbin? LadyLake
Which bobbin winder are you using? Do you have a net over the supply cone?
Anne from Guam
I am using the free standing turbo winder and I do not have a net over the supply cone.
jeri
On slick threads I usually stop the bobbin winder about 3/4 of the way full. If I fill them all the way I tend to have issues with the first part of the bobbin. Just works better for me.
Busy Quilting
Thread net and also a wad of wadding in the thread holder at the top. Stops the slippery thread from whipping around. Lyn
Anne from Guam
Thanks Lyn, I'll give that a try.
Anne from Guam
The thread net worked like a charm while winding the bobbins, but I found that it wasn't needed for the top thread.
