kusmaulk
Here is a quilt that was hand quilted many years ago, then was mistreated, and then rescued. The customer has asked me to requilt it and rebind it.

LadyLake
I've never seen that pattern before. How sweet! And, how wonderful that she cares enough to have it restored. Have fun!
MtnBarb
Just like our furry friends, a good quilt deserves to be rescued! I know your quilting will make it even prettier!

kusmaulk
I am thinking maybe vines with leaves? She asked me to leave in the hand stitching that remains. Many of the blue sashing strips have missing stitches, and some of the white backgrounds also. If I do vines with leaves, they could go in either area. Any other ideas? ffq-lar
I like the vines and leaves idea. Will you be re-stitching the hand quilting lines that are missing? If so, I would use thread in a color to match the fabric (or even invisible thread) so the bits of hand-stitching will show, as opposed to stitching with white on the blue. That would keep the integrity of the hand-quilter's vision but still allow the sandwich to be secure. Then the leaves could be over-stitched on the straight lines. If you aren't planning to re-quilt the straight lines, I think the vines and leaves with the hand stitching left as is would be charming!
