dawnlam
Am looking to do my first piano key border and can't find a picture of what the corner should look like. Do you just go to the end of the fabric or do you angle out like a 45 degree or something??? Thanks
cblevins
We do a 45 in the corners and come off of them. I suppose you could do it either way though.
dawnlam
thats what I thought would look the best, but wasnt sure if my brain was picturing it correctly. Thank You
LibbyG
Sometimes I treat the corner separately and put a feather in there. Depends on what the quilting looks like in the rest of the quilt.
Primitive1
I like Libby's idea, but I do alot of them and usually do a 45 degree angle down to the corner and run right up to it on both sides...
Bekah
I usually carry out the theme of the quilt in the corners.

Quilting Heidi
I do them one of 3 ways. 1st - mark the 45 degree line and stitch to the 45 degree line and then turn 90 degrees and stitch out. That forms a square. 2nd - stitch 45 degree line and then rays out in even increments. Usually I stitch the 90 degree angle then out on the 45 degree line, then the next ray goes halfway between the 1st and 2nd stitching, then half of that stitching and the next line until I get the right amount of quilting. 3rd option is to stitch a feathered wreath or some other motif in the corners. Oma
Linda, I did my little owl quilt like you did with the heart except mine had a flower vine going around the corner then I radiated off like you did. I think next time I am going to try the way Heidi does them. I usually just put something in the corner and treat it differently than the piano border. I would like to see a few more pics. Guest Linda S
I generally use the 45° angle in the corner to continue the lines out as squares. http://www.stellarstitches.org/My_Albums/Pages/Customer_Quilts.html#
