Jenquilts
Hi, I'm quite new. I've read a ton of posts and just wondered if someone could explain what they mean by taking a tuck to ease in extra fabric....I just can't visualize what you are doing to help keep the quilt square and flat. Thanks, Jen
jmcclannan
Sometimes I have to take a tuck or pleat in the border if there is too much fabric. I always try using starch and steam to shrink the area but sometimes that just doesn't work so where the border is sticking up in a little wave I press it down and try to hide it has best I can as I quilt over it. Does that make sense?
chrisquilter
Sometimes if it cannot be very well hidden, I applique the tuck closed so it looks just like a seam. Hope that helps
cblevins
I just gently fold the extra fabric over and pin it down while I quilt over it. I looks just like the border was pieced when you are finished. I also sew the tuck closed after I take the quilt off. Clear as mud?
