July's Moxie meeting at the beach

Recommended Posts

Well, I was able to get to the Moxie meeting after all. Show and tell started with Linda Rech showing us 2 pieces of antique linens that she marked and I'm sure will appear here when she finishes them - but unfortunately, my pictures of them didn't turn out very well, so if anyone else's pictures come out, please post them. Here are a few that did turn out.

This sweet quilt was quilted by Cindy

This one was pieced by our 2nd Cindy there and done while she had a shattered wrist!!!! Nothing stops us quilters......

And then while Shar was recooping from knee surgery, she piced this one and sent it to a friend to practice using her new IQ. It came out very pretty for a picknick quilt....

And Debbie brought her placemats that she made for their 5th wheel

Next was Lynda's star quilt. Not only does she know how to grill a good burger, but she's such a prolific quilter too. Here is the one she brought into the house for show and tell.

and the rest of these are tops that we found in her studio waiting to be quilted........

Again, Lynda's studio is one to be drooled over. She had organized her fabric to a "T" on boards and on racks with wheels so she could pull them out and find the fabrics at the back of the racks. TOO COOL. And thanks again Lynda for the fabric give away. and the cute pin cushion you made for each of us. Your the best:P:P:P

Thank you, thank you to all the Moxies who came to my studio Saturday. WHAT FUN WE HAD!!! I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends who are willing to travel soooo far to come visit, share and LAUGH!

I can't wait to do it again.

Moxies are the very best.

Oh! Thanks for sharing the pictures. Ellen and I overslept after taking a leisurely drive up the coast on Friday afternoon and walking on the beach and going to the outlet mall and having a Chinese dinner, so we arrived too late for show and tell, but we did get to see Lynda's pieced quilts awaiting quilting in her fabulous studio. Also got to see the demo of the cool panto camera. Thanks so much Lynda for the fabric. I scooped up most of your stars because they were so stellar ;), and will most likely put them into the QOVs that I have been helping out with. I've heard a rumor that Lynda will be publishing some patterns soon and, if any of you get the chance to buy them, I would highly recommend it. Her piecing techniques are exemplary, not only on the front of her tops, but on the back as well. Everything lies perfectly flat and square. She would be one wonderful teacher from whom to take a class. Thanks again for a wonderful time. Next time, we will NOT be late!

Wow Linda, Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words.

I'll let you know when the pattern is ready. It is a slow process. I've had some wonderful pattern testers offer to critique it so hopefully not too much longer. Here is a sneak peak at the finished product.

Hey Lynda, what can I say? You're probably the most talented piecer I know -- and you're quilting's not bad either! ;) I really think your pattern will be great and I'll bet you don't stop at just one.
