ramona-quilter
I have been looking at this one for a couple weeks and just draw a blank. The customer planned to handquilt it herself and even marked it for crosshatching. She wants white thread and the back is white muslin. So I know she wants crosshatching but what else? She does not want a lot of fill. Any ideas? <img src="http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n93/legcard/CustomerQuilts2006/mema-star.jpg" border="0">
sewingupastorm
Do I see some white flowers in the blue..................I would dothose and then do a tri arc in the triangles around the center and also in the squares and then crosshatch the rest. Well since she wants crosshatching that is what I would do but I would do something fancier in the white areas.
BethDurand
My first thought was to do a circle of feathers in the star area, extending into the white squares, a straight line through the blue squares, with half feathered circles in the white on the sides. sylkamode
Crosshatching, and perhaps star quilting in the stars, enhancing the lines of the stars by outline quilting, or making a freehand star in the pieces...? Myrna Ficken
Hi Linda. Just do what she has marked. It is a pretty quilt and it would keep it simple. Myrna
Bonnie
I agree simple is what this one screams....a medium stipple in the background area might be easier than cross hatching...but I would cross hatch the outside border. My suggestion would be stipple the body, do the little flower in the center of the stars, cross hatch the outside border and MAYBE do a little something in the outside blue sashing....I don't think I would do anything with the on point sashing in the body.....Just my thoughts.
