The busy print i'd do either straight line stitching, or wavy lines. Nothing much will show there...but in those solid colored areas just do some fills in them, and watch them pop out with the wavy line stitches surrounding it all! You could do all over or stop at the black border, then do a big bamboo or 1,2,3's, and in the animal print border some more free hand leaves for the cats to hide in! Just my personal (sometimes warped) sense of humor, but I would pretend the seam down the middle is the center of a tiger's back, and quilt stripes on it. See the photo below for an example.
