jandcembroidery
Janette, This might be long after the fact to solve your problem but here it goes. I have a Freedom, non-stitch regulated. I just have a standard table, M&M Wheels. I normally quilt on about a 4.75 - 5.00 speed. If I slow it down below 4.75 my top vibrates like crazy. Speed it up and my table is back to normal. jimerickson
James: A good reminder about vibration on unregulated machines. The unregulated machines run at a constant speed, and at certain speeds the machine will develop an harmonic vibration. As you know, changing the speed will eliminate that. The regulated machines don't run at a constant speed. The stitching speed changes constantly, so harmonic vibrations are rarely encountered. Janette
Well in the end I cut some scraps of cotton wadding and placed two layers over each roller, and I can't believe the difference... No bouncing, no irritating noise, and I swear my machine is quilting even smoother... Was going to buy rubber mat stuff, but I don't think I will bother unless the wedding slips over time... So thanks..
