quiltmonkey
Over time, things can work themselves loose. So.... It's a good idea for ALL of us to make an annual maintenance of our table and go around and tighten up all of the nuts and bolts on the table and legs, and machine wherever... The other day, I activated the take up roller and one end fell out of the socket! It scared the out of me! Everyone. Go grab your crescent wrenches and allen wrenches and tighten up your tables! Make it an annual job.
lisae
Great tip, Shana! And I also made sure my machine was clean and oiled to start the year off right. Yes, I do this more than once a year, haha! I am always amazed how much gunk builds up in the hook area. A clean longarm is a happy longarm! LisaC
I make my living in maintenance so I have to add to Lisa E's " A clean longarm is a happy longarm" AND: "A lubricated longarm is a happy longarm"! Lubrication is key; dirt and lint can suck up your oil as well! Happy Maintaining, Forum Friends!
Liam
Great tip Shana!! It is so easy to over look simple things like this until something comes loose. General mindset is once it is set up/assembled that is the end of it.
