Peggy (SewAsylum)
Is it safe to use quilting rulers with an open hopping foot? I have tried it and it seems to work okay, but I would hate for the ruler to slip and do damage to my "beast." lol.
calicokat
I was always told not to, but I figured it was because the open toe area might affect the way the ruler sat in some positions around the front?
Mrs.A
I don't have a lot of experience with rulers but APQS makes the thicker profile ruler feet in both closed and open toe so it must be OK…just make sure you are using the thicker foot…if not, your ruler is likely to jump the foot & all heck might break loose. Janette
I have used the high open toe foot with rulers but the needle is a bit closer than. Quarter of an inch from the front as it's cut out... I would not use the low profile feet though... I did carefully try but not good..
