Resilient Quilter
hi everybody, Just wanting to know what suggestions you have for getting rid of an oil drop onto a quilt top - on the border near the edge, but visible. Its a customer quilt, so need to get rid of it. Thanks! Resilient quilter
chrisquilter
Oh! do I have the product for you. I was working on a customer quilt and I got spot of black grease on the quilt. I used Sew Clean by Bear Threads Design. Here is the number to call to order. 281 462-0661. My bottle is several years old so I am not sure if this a good number or not. I purchased this from Pam Clark in a class I took from her. This is the same product Jamie Wallen uses to remove blue marker. I just sprayed a little in a lid and used a q-tip to daub the spot. It was like magic!. Yellow fabric with black grease! There was not trace of the grease! By daubing the spot, you won't wear the fabric. It left no residue either. Good Luck! maggienoella
Only thing I've heard is to sprinkle cornmeal on it and by the time the quilt is finished and off the frame the spot is gone. Joan
ffq-lar
Another sure-fire remover is baking soda. Like the cornmeal mentioned by Joan, it absorbs the oil. Really pile it on the spot, let sit for a half hour, and vacuum it off. If some spot still remains, re-apply, let sit again, and it should be gone.
