Georgene
I called Amy at APQS and asked about a longer cord for the fabric advance foot pedal on the new machines. When I had my 2008 Millie, I kept the pedal in the center of my machine. But the newer pedals have shorter cords. And it wouldn't reach. Amy gave me a solution. Go to Radio Shack and buy item # 42-2556. Cost is $12.99. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103867 I bought it today. You use it like an extension cord. Plug one end into the advance motor and the other in the existing cord. It's a lot longer than necessary, but I just kept most of it wound up in a coil, like it comes packaged, and it works fine. Sheagatzi
Great tip, thank you! I have wondered about this (why a short cord?) but never really thought further.
Busy Quilting
Now to find where in Australia I can find it. Headphone cable, I will try the media room first when I get back home.
Sheagatzi
This is so funny....today I was fiddling with my quilt, trying to straighten it and tighten it with the foot pedal, and my arm and leg length just couldn't quite get to the pedal. I thought if only I had that longer cord! Will get one for sure now!
