Ferret, as far as I'm concerned, from what I've seen in the past, your quilts of nudes are beautiful, and are created in a good tasteful artform. I've not found them to be offensive. The use of light and shadows in your nudes is interesting, I think.

Maybe you can just post a note stating you have a new nude on your blog and anyone interested can look there.

Ferret,

I'm with Shana on this one....your quilts are not sex objects they are diffently an artform....and should be seen as such. Your use of fabrics and color are what makes these so realistic and sensual, but I don't see them as pornographic and distastful.

But that's just me...the person who use to work for Harrah's Hotel and Casino and some of the photo shoots I use to have to assist with were meant to be HOT and SINFUL...and if you weren't ready to be in the same room with a whole bunch of naked people (male and female) ya' shouldn't have been there. Some of the New Year's eve, Halloween and Special event invitations were sometimes PRETTY steamy....and it was all done in the name of art.

I too enjoy your quilts...and admire someone who can do a art quilt....me I don't do those....I just make traditional quilts.

Well my prevoius one was considred offensive by quite a few people so it seemed worth asking. In fact I have a few people already who have problems with this one. I guess different people see different things in art. I should say I have also had several comments from people who do see what I see which is very encouraging.

I didn't see anything to be offended at , Ferret, and I'm one that sometimes gets easily offended at some nude "art". Yours, however, is a statement of beauty and grace. Ignore the naysayers for now, maybe they'll come to see it the way I have in time. I think the fact that it bothers some gives testament to your artistry. Thank you for risking sharing it. Art is useless if it stays in a cupboard. Kudos to you!

Your work is truly beautiful!! Remember that there will always be someone who likes to "stir things up". Personally I see nothing to be offended by! But let's talk about the Victoria Secret commercials on during the shows my children watch! That's what I find offensive!! If someone does want to complain about your quilt... well let them!! It will keep your work in the headlines (sew to speak). Keep it up and do not be intimidated in any way, shape or form by worring about those that might take offense!

Patty

You can always vent here if you need to!
