Mercedes
I'm looking to purchase a few pantographs - one specifically is the football helmets and footballs. Since I've really only used one pantograph, I have the following questions; 1. What size do I purchase (I own a Millie)? 2. Are there markings on all pantographs so you can line them up when you roll the quilt? What should I look for? 3. Some patterns seem very complicated and others very simple - what looks best on the quilt? 4. Where would you suggest I purchase them? 5. Anything else I should know when making a purchase? Thanks.....Mercedes
Sharon Deming
Hi there. First, with a Millie you will not really be limited in your choice of the width of the pattern. Since you are new to pantos, start with more simple, open patterns, and then move to more dense and/or complex patterns as your skills increase. Dawn has a nice video on pantographs - check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0jNFen--eo . You don't need lines or registration marks to align the panto as you advance your quilt. The video shows you how to do that (it isn't hard at all). there are several good vendor sites. I like Urban Elementz. The folks there are great to offer suggestions. Sometimes I send them a picture of the quilt top to get their ideas. Do a google search on pantographs, and you will find several good sites. Gamache
Mercedes, I have 2 pantographs that I would like to sell. The Spider Lily pantograph is brand new, still in the plastic wrapping. The Fanfare Grande set has hardly been used. I ended up with duplicates when I bought a used group from someone who upgraded to computer. New they would be $48 and $16.50 I am asking $36 - which includes shipping. Mercedes
Chris, Who is the manufacturer so I can look at the designs? Thanks....Mercedes Sharon, Thanks so much for the input - I really needed it. Viewed Dawns youtube and it became much clearer on how to align once you move the fabric! dbams
Mercedes, I think Chris's pantos are from Urban Elementz. Unfortunately, it looks like their site is down, but I found their pantos here: http://www.sewthankful.com/UrbanElementzPatriciaRitter.html. Gamache
Mercedes, They can be found on the Urban Elementz web site. Just click on the link I provided. They did announce that they were getting a "new look" , so it may be a day or two before you can access their site. Chris
Mercedes
Checked them out and am going to pass on these. Hopefully someone else is looking for them. I'm really wanting the "Touchdown" panto from Urban Elementz (football) as I have a Seahawks quilt I just finished that I want to use it on. If it doesn't pop up for sale here in a couple of days, I'll just purchase one. Thanks!
