caddyhomes
Is it possible for the encoder wheels on my Freedom, to start biodegrading, leaving clumps of primordial goo on the frame? Charlotte
barbm
Charlotte, the encoder wheels on your Freddie should only be running on your head and carriage wheels, not on the rails. And the "primordial goo" is most likely the result of oxidation of the aluminum rails on your table and/or carriage. You can remove the goo with a dampened piece of batting and some elbow grease... Gator
I clean my rails and carriage with alcohol or windex (no ammonia) every day before using my millie. Just like Barb said the aluminum oxidizes quickly but won't hurt the frames structure. Not sure what it might be if you have gooey stuff, not just black powdery stuff (real technical terms).
