FromtheNest
I recently saw a picture of someone with a quilt loaded and She had a bungie cord with beads on it stretched across her top. Does anyone know what it is for and if there is a source for it? It looks like it would be helpful in keeping your quilt square, but not sure. Thanks! Gail O
The quilter probably floats the tops, and the markers are used to keep the a piecing lines straight. There are various methods of doing this. Below is a commercial version of the same thing.

Kueser
I use pieces of black quarter-inch elastic tied around the top roller to align the edges, center, and midpoints as I roll the quilt forward. The tight elastic stays secure but is flexible enough that I can move up or down the roll to match the current quilt I am working on.
