quiltinmommy
I do alot of block designs where i place them on top of the quilt and use my laser (to eliminate marking) but I have trouble with them shifting while I quilt, any suggestions? hummingbird
Hi Laura, I'm a little confused about your block designs. Are you laying your block pattern directly on the quilt top itself or do you have a laser table & it is shifting?
Myrna Ficken
Laura, Go to your local glass shop and have them cut a piece of plexiglas that is 11X26'. The plexiglas will rest on the quilt top roller and the quilt leveling roller while you are quilting. Your paper design will be placed on top of that. I use a couple of bit pieces of blue painters tape on the edges of the pattern. You can reshift the pattern as needed from block to block. Suesquilts
I also do block patterns from the front with the laser. I pin the pattern on one block over next to the block I am working in, follow the pattern with the laser light. Then I unpin it and move it to the next block. There is a great posting on longarmchat.com about how to do this. Sue from Maine APQS Liberty
Kari
I use a sheet of foam core board sitting on two of the rollers - put my pattern on top and put the plexiglass on top of that. The pattern doesn't move a bit and the foam core board gives me a working table at the same time.
