rcck00
Hi, I used miracle chalk for the first time today, and I can't get it off the quilt!! I have steamed the heck out of it, but it's still there. I even got out my Shark Steamer, but I still see it! The fabrics are Jinny Beyer's, bought at a quality LQS, so I don't know what the problem is, or what to do about it. Any of you have this experience? What did you do? Thanks
Quilting Heidi
Cathy, It isn\'t really steam that takes the marks out, rather a hot iron. Try that and see if they disappear. If that doesn\'t work try giving it a washing. Heidi
rcck00
Thank you!! I am plugging in my iron now! Will let you know if it works. Thanks!!
ffq-lar
I may be wrong, but I think Miracle Chalk is harder to remove if the fabric hasn\'t been pre-washed. Maybe the sizing makes the M chalk stickier. I have always been able to get it out--but sometimes it does take washing to succeed. I keep a hair dryer in the studio and it usually works great. Only a few times have I needed to use an iron. Good luck, Cathy.
rcck00
SUCCESS!!! Thank you all so much! I was able to iron it off. Crisis averted. We now return you to our regularly scheduled quilting....
Quilting Heidi
Cathy, Glad it worked. I had tried steam before and that didn\'t work so that is why I knew. Not a so good feeling is it? Linda I forgot that the blow dryer works too! Heidi
Mary Beth
I have had trouble removing MC too, but I don\'t panic, because I know it will come out. Last time I had it on a fabric, I touched the iron to it and poof - it was gone. Made a mental note to use the iron next time. I have a steamer too, but it doesn\'t work like the iron with steam does. I\'ll have to give the hair dryer a try too.
Stagecl
Just make sure you are using a cotton batt before you hit it with a hot iron. It doesn\'t take much to melt a poly batt. Cheryl
