Ban those names - easy

Recommended Posts

If you click on the membership list, I just did the very last page of names, you can quickly see the smutpushers. Quite a few names from UK, and when you move over and hilite the name then scroll down to properties they almost all say something about Broderbund. This is a software they are using for the pics. Many of them have not posted yet so they are probably on a 'time delay' and will eventually bombard the list. It only takes a few seconds to hilite and check the names. I hope the moderators see this and can go thru starting from the last page and work back a few and delete/ban these members.

I have a question here about the mods.. are you a volunteer for advertising mod, or a paid employee? I wouldn\'t be so rude to ask wages.. I just don\'t think most mods are doing it for fun, and some I\'ve known said they had extra programs they had to put on their computers to block or ban or delete, etc.. others didn\'t, but had a special link to the site which gave them those powers.. such as on game sites.

Can\'t answer for our list moderators here but when I was doing \'lists\' it was strictly a volunteer thing. And it does get hectic at times. It can take a lot of time to tweak things just right. So I do appreciate our moderators and try not to complain too much:-) Just posting to hopefully make their job a bit easier.

Boy can I be dumb at times.. I forgot the reason why I was asking... anyway.. it looks to me like most of them are business people or apqs employees, in which case when off work from apqs jobs they shouldn\'t have to moderate the board, nor should shop/business owners be expected to stay "on line" during work hours to moderate..

I was I guess saying these mods, paid or otherwise, don\'t have an easy time of it.

Only the board administrators have any real means to delete posts or ban accounts. To my knowledge, folks designated as moderators don\'t have the dboard permissions to do so.

I think it depends on the origin of the board.. both my sites on Yahoo, the mods and co owners could ban, delete.. depends on the options the owner sets them up with. Other boards I have no personal knowledge of.. except what use to be Popcap.. a game site.

I can, and will, ban any members that we don\'t want! But, even better, our new web team as changed how you sign up for the chat by adding one of those hidden codes that you have to type in. So, real people must be registering, not computers. I haven\'t deleted porn in more than 48 hours!! Yippee...but I am glad to ban any member that decides to post porn!
