artinfabric
I have just ordered a millie and I am wondering about the leaders. Do directions for making them come with the machine. I did not see this as part of the package included in the starter kit.
Guest LA
Lottie, Congrats on your Millie, & yes the leaders come attached to your rollers. All you will need is a quilt, batting & thread! Call me if you need to schedule your free beginners class, I have several going on in January!
Grace
I am wondering if anyone has a problem with the leaders stretching over time. Mine seem to sag in the very center, probably from doing many smaller quilts. I have tried zipping the leaders together to 'stretch' them back into shape, but that hasn't made a significant difference. Would spritzing them with warm water cause sufficient 'shrinkage' to tighten things up again? I have really noticed it with the last few quilts I have done. Not as easy to roll them evenly anymore. Thanks.

artinfabric
Ladies go to search option and enter the word leaders. there are several entries dating as far back as 2002 which cover this same topic very nicely. I just found 2 right off, which dealt with sagging leaders and how to straighten them. Hope this helps
Guest Linda S
Your leaders do get a bit stretched after time. I have zippers on mine (you can get them from Sue Schmeiden). Every so often, I zip the take-up leader to the bottom leader and roll them back and forth. This seems to help them readjust and straighten out again. Jerri
I do mist my leaders - quite heavily, tighten. and leave to dry overnight. I do this every couple of days. After 2 years I replaced my leaders about 3 months too - very easy to do. I used Pillow ticking and just love the "vertical lines".
shadows4
I also bought a used machine directly from APQS. I am curious as to whether I can get the free class. I just purchased a Hartley Fence and would love tips on using it. By the way, I love my Ultimate II!!!
